Hangama Anwari is a dedicated Associate Lawyer at CGS Law Firm, specializing in Immigration, Refugee, Family, and Child Protection Law. As a licensed Barrister & Solicitor in Ontario, she provides strategic legal counsel and compassionate representation to individuals and families navigating complex legal matters. Her practice includes immigration applications, refugee claims, tribunal proceedings, family law disputes, separation and divorce matters, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, child protection proceedings, and other family-related legal issues.

Hangama represents clients before immigration tribunals, administrative bodies, and family courts, offering comprehensive support to those seeking refugee protection, permanent residency, and effective resolutions to family and child protection matters. She is committed to helping clients achieve practical and positive outcomes while guiding them through challenging legal processes with professionalism, empathy, and  dedication.

Hangama holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Afghanistan. Following her graduation from Osgoode, she completed the Law Practice Program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where she gained valuable hands-on experience through placements with Sultan Law and Litchwick Law.

Fluent in English, Dari, and Farsi, Hangama brings a global perspective and cultural sensitivity to her legal practice. Her multilingual abilities enable her to effectively serve clients from diverse backgrounds and ensure they feel supported and understood throughout their legal journey.

Prior to immigrating to Canada, Hangama held significant leadership roles with UN Women as a Program Manager and served as a Human Rights Commissioner in Afghanistan. Through these positions, she advocated for gender equality, human rights, and access to justice, experiences that continue to inform her client-centered approach to legal practice.
